I am guessing that the part of the "software on the given cd" are the
software drivers.

Well either something is wrong with the device itself, the USB system on
your computer or the drivers. I see no new drivers on the site for that
particular model so I would assume you have the latest. I presume your
operating system has the latest patches.

Do other USB devices work?

There is not much anybody here can do -- as I said before the camera may be
suspect. Either contact the supplier or manufacturer for support.

I think......maybe haven't
how can i check this??
You would need some other USB device that works properly (there may be some
checks that can be done with no external device but I am guessing to confirm
function you would need something). If you have more than one USB you could
try the camera in all.

Do you have all the latest updates for Win98SE from
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com?

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;263218&Product=w98
might provide useful information.
I'm not really the computer can/can't detected the USB, because I
can't found the "LTI-353"( the Webcam name) in the system/setting,
only "AMCAP"in the driver....
thanks for help!!
Does the computer give some indication when the camera is added or removed
from the USB port?
