I can only see my video

Hi there,

I am using Netmeeting with XP and Philips Toucam webcams
inside a LAN (trying to get webcams to communicate across
the office). I have set both machines to Send and Recieve
video.

I can make a call from one computer to another using the
IP addresses - but when the connection is made, I don't
get any received video, only the self-view.

On a similar set up with an XP machine with a Toucam
connecting to D-Link's I2eye (IP videophone/webcam running
on a TV), the I2eye displayed both video windows, but the
PC still only has the self-view.

Anyone got any ideas what's going wrong?

This LAN is all on the same logical subnet ?( no routers or firewalls
between the parties?)

What about the other end -- do they receive your video? What about audio?
Does it move either or both ways?

Normally in NetMeeting call the local video is displayed(unless the local
video is paused) until the call is connected and the other party is
transmitting video -- the video display then has the remote video ( and
perhaps the local video showing in the bottom right corner and/or in a
separate external video if "My Video" menu item is selected).

I am not totally sure what your exact situation is here.

A key is determining whether any audio or video flows either way. A secure
call would mean no audio or video either way. Audio and/or video moving one
way only would indicate a firewall or router problem at the receiving end.
There have also been problems lately transmitting audio/video from machines
with intel NICs ( disabling the QoS Packet Scheduler solves those problems
but in your situation you may actually be expecting the scheduler to work).

I am having the same problem... I think. My sister can connect to me
using NetMeeting and view my video that I am sending from my I2eye.
However, I cannot see her video. I have connected to her directly with
NetMeeting, and confirmed that her video is sending correctly.

Please forward on any advice or future resolution.

Many thanks,
Karridy

Do you hear her audio? Are you behind a router of some kind? What operating
system are you/she running?

I am not sure what this means -- "connected to her directly". All
NetMeeting connections are direct.
