Can someone tell me if there is a recommended # of
concurrent connections when running net meeting? We are
trying to find a training application with Netmeetings
features but will need to have around 100 connections at
the same time.

I doubt whether a strategy for the that many connections will be possible. I
usually recommend 8 ( maybe could be stretched to 16-32 with some
difficulty) but 100 in my mind is likely not possible(either logistics,
bandwidth or cpu limitations would cause problems well below 100 users).

You would be better off using one of the server based services ( Webex,
LiveMeeting, Raindance) if you really need that many users.

Well that's what I thought but the head of our IT
department think that some how netmeeting can be run
through our SharePoint Server and be able to handle this
many connection. Have you ever heard of the two these two
applications working together to allow a greater amount
of people to join the call?

Thanks,
Jeff

A T.120 conference server ( with lots of bandwidth and CPU) might help --
100 though ( assuming you use NetMeeting as the client).

AFAIK the Sharepoint Server has facilities for non real time discussion but
no real time features and is definitely not a T.120 conference server. LCS
(Live Communications server) users Windows Messenger as a client has real
time discussion features but has no features for multiparty application
sharing either.

If one of the providers I mentioned before sold a packaged server product
for their service ( none do AFAIK) you could mount your own server to do
this sort of thing (but you would be using a custom non-NetMeeting client)
as none use the T.120 protocol for sharing.
