compatability of xp and win 98

I am using microsoft messenger. I have XP Home and the
other person has Win 98. We can talk but can not see each
other. The message on the other conputer say it should
have EP installed to be compatable. Is this so. I use my
own Email as a passport, they use Hot Mail.

Messenger has two video options -- one of them (accessed via the "Start a
Video Conference") is only available on XP. The other (accessed by "Send my
Webcam") is available and functions on Msn Messenger on all Windows
platforms.

In your situation it sound like the latter is what you should be using.
